Ruarri Joseph of William The Conqueror + support Matilda Finn Frances
The Sound Lounge, SM1 1NU , [Venue Details]Ruarri Joseph, frontman of the excellent indie rock trio William the Conqueror, is returning to his roots with a series of solo performances under his own name, and we're over the moon to have one of them!
Ruarri is keen to point out that WTC are absolutely not splitting up - they have shows with Bright Eyes this summer and will start recording their fifth album later this year. But Joseph is also grabbing the chance to fit in his first solo performances in 12 years and they include a return to the Sound Lounge, where the group played in both 2022 and 2023. We urge you not to miss this rare opportunity to experience the intimate, stripped-back performances that launched Ruarri's career.
Born in Edinburgh and raised in New Zealand, Joseph's musical adventures began in the UK, where he gained recognition as a solo artist with four albums released between 2007 and 2013. In 2015, he co-founded the band/art project William the Conqueror, who've won widespread acclaim for their fusion of bluesy grunge and Americana with anthemic British alt-rock, drawing comparisons to acts like Kings of Leon and Nirvana and touring worldwide to this day.
This upcoming solo tour offers a unique chance to witness Joseph's evolution as an artist, revisiting the raw, heartfelt performances that defined his early work.
