Raised mainly on a diet of traditional Irish song, as well as some choral singing, Anthony decidedly moved towards jazz and contemporary music as he embarked on his formal study at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, later completing a masters at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, New York City.
