Ronnie Scott's Classical All Stars present Cinematic Sounds - Part One
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Our new seven-piece ensemble, The Ronnie Scott’s Classical All Stars will reimagine iconic repertoire for a chamber-sized ensemble, bringing the same spirit of virtuosity, flair and storytelling that has made the All Stars a cornerstone of the club’s identity.
This concert will feature music from the most iconic film soundtracks of the Golden Age of Hollwood (circa 1930-1950) lovingly recreated for an all star classical ensemble.
The Golden Age of Hollywood (1930-1950) was an era where some of the most skilled film composers all worked in Hollywood. Music has always captured the ‘spiritual’ architecture of a film. The early silent films relied on an improvising musician to convey the sentiment of the story. As time moved on, films became more sophisticated and scores were properly composed, becoming an essential component of the film - sometimes more memorable than the actual film itself. Many of these composers were inspired by classical and symphonic music and were highly skilled at their craft.
For this concert, the Ronnie Scott's Classical All Stars will dip into this vast repertoire featuring music from the amazing film scores for The Adventures of Robin Hood (1939) The Wizard Of Oz (1940), Casablanca (1942), Now Voyager (1943), Hitchcock's Spellbound (1946), and Gone with the Wind (1939), and Warsaw Concerto.
