This gripping opera recounts the story of the defeated Ottoman sultan Bajazet and his daughter Asteria, ensnared in a web of love, loyalty, and power struggles with the ruthless conqueror Tamerlano.
Award-winning director Orpha Phelan makes her Baroque opera directorial debut, leading an exceptional cast. Musical Director and world- leading Handelian Laurence Cummings makes his hotly anticipated return to the LHF, joined in the pit by his ensemble, the Academy of Ancient Music.
