@5.00pm

We’re delighted that this specially extended session will feature a feast of talent, headlined by the legendary Tessa, who’ll be spinning 100% Roots and Culture Reggae. Tessa was the bassie throughout the career of seminal sonic warriors The Slits, who’s foundation 70s LP “Cut” was produced by Dub-master Dennis Bovell ( she also toured with Jazz great Don Cherry.) The inimitable Tessa draws from a deep love of the music and selects from a mighty collection, mostly amassed back in the day. Her deep and heavy, dubwise sets are always a great pleasure and are consistently warmly received.

This show will feature various styles of music of Jamacian origin, played in full Soundsystem style throughout. Your co-pilots for this musical mission will also include a host of Deptford Dub Clubs regular sonic astronauts. The resident Crew of Soft Wax plus the mighty Singjay Doc Murdoc will be joined by club favourites Drop da Biscuit and Dirt Bike Dub. There will also be live horns, led by Tombone ( Dub Pistols ) and Michael, our saxophonist, plus other special guests, live and direct.

In a one away excursion this show is also part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, so the D.D.C. going multi media.
