The OctoNove Ensemble is delighted to return to St Bride’s for its fourth recital. We are a chamber music ensemble featuring some of the finest amateur musicians in London:
Claire Maugham – violin – studied at the Royal College of Music, and read English at Cambridge University.
Born in Versailles, Meïdi Chalal – viola – started violin at five and viola at 23.
Alison Atkinson – cello – works at the National Gallery where she manages the database of all customers, members and donors of the Gallery.
Jamie Parkinson – double bass – is a trade union official, sending and receiving emails.
Caroline Welsh – flute – leads creative workshops in partnership with the Wigmore Hall, LSO, City of London Sinfonia.
Dan Elson – oboe – is a Professor of Surgical Imaging and Biophotonics, working at the interface of science, engineering, technology and medicine at Imperial College London.
Charlotte Woolley – clarinet – is a senior civil servant working for the Ministry of Defence. She has a DPhil in Laser Physics and is Chair of Trustees for the South East London Orchestra.
Matthew Sackman – horn – spends his days telling computers what to do, and looking on in horror when they do exactly that.
Alex Moss – bassoon – studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and has worked with professional orchestras in the UK and Portugal.
