He is most famous for his entrancing and mesmerizing guitar solos and riffs, that gave birth to the famous Kwasa Kwasa dance, championed by John Peel and Andy Kershaw in the late 80s! Kanda’s music genius has always been driven by an aura of optimism, joy and and radiating happiness.

The Orchestra play an eclectic mix of World Music, with inspirations from Sub-Saharan African Music, Arabic Music, Gypsy Music, Folk, Blues/Jazz.

All compositions performed are original with bandleader Johnny Mooney (Bass Guitar), Will Starks (Drums), Trevor Westcarr (Guitar), Ania Nizio (Vocals), Iyaz Awan (Percussion), Henry Knudsen (Sax), Ian Solomon (Guitar).
