Trumpet Tom Fest

The Victoria, E8 3AS , [Venue Details]

When Trumpet Tom was 30, he decided to have a party to celebrate. He got together with a few of his musician friends and put together a small all day music extravaganza. Despite a last minute venue change, the day was a success.

@1.30pm

Headlining that day was a Jimmy Eat World tribute act called Jimmy Ate World. Following the show, the band members decided that playing together was a hell of a lot of fun and decided to form a band.

That band became Lakes, who started out playing small shows in the underground scene in Watford but before long were embarking on huge tours of the UK and EU, as well as playing some of the most iconic venues in London and supporting amazing acts like American Football and Pedro the Lion.

Lakes was also Trumpet Tom's introduction into the UK Emo DIY music scene and after featuring on a couple of songs on Lakes debut album, Trumpet Tom has been busy recording solos and trumpet parts for a whole range of bands in the scene (with more new material to come this year). He has invited a selection of these bands and artists to the Victoria in Dalston to celebrate his 40th birthday in what will be a much much bigger and better occasion.

On top of this, he will be on stage with Whelligan and Marco Magnani (who opened his 30th birthday all those years ago with his band, Mark and the Clouds). Not only that, he has also picked out 3 of his absolute favourite live acts he's seen in the last 10 years.
