Wolf Hall in Concert
Union Chapel, N1 2UN , [Venue Details]Experience the power, passion and intrigue of a story 500 years in the making, told through music, words and imagery.
Hilary Mantel’s acclaimed ‘Wolf Hall’ trilogy has been transformed into a gripping drama by the BBC to huge acclaim.
Accompanying Thomas Cromwell’s machinations and hushed conversations in shadowy palace corners and eventual fall from favour and execution is original music by award-winning composer Debbie Wiseman, performed by the Locrian Ensemble of London.
In this special concert, Debbie, the Ensemble and soprano Grace Davidson perform music from the best-selling score, alongside extracts from the ‘Wolf Hall’ trilogy read by BAFTA-nominated Anton Lesser – who plays Thomas More in the BBC series. ‘Wolf Hall’ and Tudor-period imagery set the scene for this special evening of drama, intrigue and storytelling.
“Haunting… Wiseman’s score perfectly suited the feel… deceptively simple replete with the tense undercurrents that characterise the plotting and intrigues of the Tudor court’ (Classic FM)
