Miss Hope Springs – A Star is Thawed
Crazy Coqs Cabaret, W1F 7ED , [Venue Details]In a momentous historic moment, akin to the end of the last ice age, Miss Hope Springs emerges from cryogenic suspension for a limited season of unscripted shows.
Live at the piano, musical, comedy, cabaret legend Hope sings an array of all-original numbers from her repertoire of ridiculously catchy self-penned songs, and tells scandalous stories from her ‘Ritz to the pits’ life in London, Paris, and erm, Dungeness. Still wearing the sequinned pantsuits she left Las Vegas wearing in 1972, you’ll hear her unique brand of toe-tapping show tunes, smouldering ballads and hysterical comedy numbers.
“I’m returning to the stage because I need a shedload of 50ps. That meter won’t feed itself, you know…” says La Springs.
Music & lyrics, written & performed by Ty Jeffries.
“Tragicomic genius” – Julian Clary
“The greatest star that never was sings the greatest hits that never were” – Jonathan Ross
“Brimming with more catchy self-penned West End-quality showstoppers than you can shake a feather boa at” – Cabaret Scenes USA
“Funny, bitter-sweet, totally charming and unexpectedly moving…” – Mark Gatiss
“Glorious timing…fab songs…Hilarious character patter!” – Tracie Bennett
“Clever, classy, funny… The songs are genius. Go see!” – Marc Almond
“Talent in spades!” – Miriam Margolyes
