Fibonacci String Quartet with Luba Tunicliffe and David Waterman
JW3, NW3 6ET , [Venue Details]The Fibonacci Quartet have burst onto the international stage after winning first prize in numerous competitions including the prestigious Borciani International Competition in Italy.
They will be joined by Luba Tunicliffe (Viola) and David Waterman (Cello).
Audiences love the immediacy and warmth of their communication both with one another and with the listener.
Luba Tunnicliffe is one of the UK’s finest and most musicianly young violists and played for several years in the Ruisi Quartet.
There are only a handful of major string sextets but they are all wonderfully sonorous and warm. The extra viola and cello added to the string quartet add a lot of colour and richness, and also liberate the first viola and cello to share melodies with the first violin. It is perhaps not an accident that all these three gorgeous pieces are part of the late Romantic era. This is a rare chance to hear them together.
