In 2023, saxophonist Wayne Escoffery found himself in a unique solitude during a European sabbatical, grappling with the end of a significant relationship and the loss of cherished friendships. Worst yet, a broken finger prevented him from playing his saxophone, his usual coping mechanism, for the first time since his musical journey began at eleven years old.

This period of isolation, however, birthed his profound album, Alone. The album stands out as an intimate reflection on loss, resilience, and self-discovery in his vast discography. Alone showcases Escoffery's exceptional talent and his ability to transform solitude into a powerful musical narrative.
