Pizza Express Jazz Club, W1D 3RW , [Venue Details]After 3 years honing their sound on the circuit, Fat Brass hibernated in the studio this winter to lay down their debut EP featuring some of their favourite tunes to mess with.
This release party will see the crew perform a host of tracks on & off the record, staying true to their original MO by flipping samples from the very bottom of the crate with anthemic horn lines & peppering every tune with detailed improvisation. Their setlist weaves heavy hitters with modern soul, R&B, and pop, all threaded through a contemporary jazz brass needle.
Fat Brass is a restless collective of musicians specialising in the best of brass and jazz. Rising as a phoenix from the ashes of 2021, the group has since become known for its unique sound, captivating live performances, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of the genre. Each member of the group brings their own style, musicianship, and energy to the stage, creating a powerful & cohesive sound. The collective's music is characterised by its blend of modern repertoire with a contemporary jazz attitude, drawing inspiration from almost every corner of the record store, from soul to hip-hop, grime to DnB, and everything in between. In this visit to PizzaExpress Soho, Fat Brass launch their debut EP, premiering new material & reworks of contemporary classics to fashion a set that is simultaneously fresh & timeless.
