La Roux not only put synth-pop on the map with this album, but redefined pop music in the late 2000s, paving the way for other synth-pop artists to reach the mainstream. This trailblazing spirit quickly transcended music, and became known for her distinct androgynous style and non-conformist attitude, challenging the traditional expectations of what a pop star should look and act like. Her 2014 album Trouble in Paradise and 2020’s Supervision explored sounds that spanned genres, and her latest work will continue to push those boundaries. In her forthcoming album, which was 100% self-written, composed, and produced, La Roux parts ways with her past self and steps into her own narrative channeling themes of identity, reinvention, and personal liberation. Nearly 15 years later and having collaborated with some of the industry’s biggest names (Tyler the Creator, Skream, Major Lazer, New Order, Chromeo), La Roux continues to be a revolutionary artist who is unafraid to break the mold and challenge limits , all while advocating for her artistry and voice.
