The Orchestra (For Now)

Scala, N1 9NL , [Venue Details]

“We got a bit carried away,” says Joseph Scarisbrick, singer of The Orchestra (For Now), speaking of a roster which currently stands seven deep. They have strength in numbers and attack songs with the power and intensity of a prize tag team.

Doors open @7.30pm

Cellist Erin Snape nails it best, saying the music makes it clear that their personalities are “big and loud and anxious.”

That same loud and anxious energy can be found on Plan 75, The Orchestra (For Now)’s howlingly ambitious debut EP. Released in March this year, the EP essentially tracks the formation of the band (which also includes guitarists Bill Bickerstaff and Neil Thomson, violinist Lingling Bao-Smith, drummer Charlie Hancock and bassist Isobel Nisbett).

Initially honing their sound on the London live circuit, the band’s energy and passion soon made them an unmissable word of mouth success. Bigger gigs quickly followed, with multiple sold out shows and festival dates (End of the Road, Green Man) all being ticked off before they officially released any music.

To cap off the release of Plan 75, the band played a sold out ICA in London, their biggest headline to date. With festivals coming up this summer at End of the Road, Latitude, Great Escape and more, the band also announced their debut UK tour for this November, with a London date at the Scala just announced.
