The Dublin Castle, NW1 7AN , [Venue Details]Popscene – What better name for a beautiful tribute to Blur…back in 1995 the real thing infamously played a sweet as a nut sweat box Dublin Castle ‘secret’ gig at the height of post Parklife Blurmania. And what a night it was. I recall Damon’s battered organ hanging off the edge of the cramped stage.
Anyway, here’s Popscene to help you relive that sadly barely documented happening. Maybe they’ll play that same set. And another thing…London Zoo is just up the road so you could also easily catch Gorillaz this evening too…(you did that ‘joke’ last time Beetlebum).
Last time indeed was this time last year when we rekindled the old Blur Vs Oasis shenanigans. Tonight, care of the weird and wonderful world of tribute life, we enter a parallel universe where The Cure support Blur…has this ever happened? Seems unlikely, so what a treat right!?
the inCUREables - hotter than a Fire In Cairo, these 5 Imaginary Boys are fresh off the press with their all eras tribute to Crawley’s finest Goth pop institution.
With an uncanny resemblance physically and vocally (once the syrup’s on) to Bob Smith, author, raconteur and one time Dublin Castle promoter Andy McCleod fronts this Faith -ful and fun Cure homage. Brill.
