James Marriott
Pryzm, Main Stage, KT1 1QP , [Venue Details]To celebrate the release of the new album Don't Tell The Dog, James Marriott visits Kingston to play at Pryzm.
Having scored a Top 20 hit with his debut album ‘Are We There Yet?’, Brighton's James Marriott looks poised to achieve a whole lot more as he prepares to release his second album, ‘Don’t Tell The Dog’ on June 13th. It’s an album in which James confronts a myriad spectrum of neuroses, uncertainties and self-defeating thought processes. But as an artist who loves a striking contrast, they’re woven into songs primarily built for joyous, anthemic singalongs and boisterous live energy.
Carefully curated from over a hundred demos, these songs collectively paint an autobiographical picture of James’s life so far. “I wanted to explore themes from my childhood, and in the second half how attachment theory can affect you as an adult. I wanted to look at things that happened to me whilst I was younger and identify ways in which they have echoed into my current relationships.”
