Hetty Kate's Jazz in Four Seasons
The Pheasantry, SW3 4UT , [Venue Details]Join celebrated British/Australian vocalist Hetty Kate as she returns to The Pheasantry to celebrate the release of her new album, a sparkling collection of songs celebrating Spring, from the smallest creature to the most beautiful bloom.
This album is the first in her new international series 'Jazz in Four Seasons', each recorded in a different country around the world. This first album, Volume 1, was recorded in Prague in 2024.
For this special evening you'll enjoy sparkling treasures from Duke Ellington, Todd Dameron, Dave Brubeck and more as the band paint a musical portrait of Spring's tempestuous beauty.
Hetty Kate brings a pure tone, natural artistry and love of performance to the jazz tradition. Compared to a 'good champagne, simultaneously effervescent and restrained' by the Sydney Morning Herald, you'll find her distinctive approach balances a great respect for the lyric with spontaneity, humour and joy.
Nurtured in Melbourne's vibrant jazz scene, Hetty has toured in 28 countries with performances at major jazz festivals and a significant tenure as Australian jazz luminary James Morrison's vocalist. Hetty was the featured vocalist with Morrison's award winning symphonic concert 'The A to Z of Jazz' performed with eight symphonic orchestras worldwide, and has appeared on both stage and screen.
