Active since the early 1990s, he explores the boundaries of electronic music, architecture, and memory. His acclaimed works include Mass Observation (1994), An Ascent (2020), and large-scale commissions for Tate Modern, the 2012 Olympics, and Dutch National Ballet’s Nightfall, the first virtual reality ballet.
His installations span airports, museums, hospitals, and public spaces worldwide, reaching diverse audiences with immersive sound experiences. In 2024, his collaboration with Mike Kelley, Esprits de Paris, joined the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Rimbaud has exhibited at SFMOMA, Tate Britain, the Hayward Gallery, and the Bolshoi Theatre, crafting environments where sound becomes a powerful and living presence.
