Formed over fifteen years ago and with past and present collaborations that include Bobby McFerrin, Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone and Dave Holland, LVP are returning to the ‘groove’ repertoire that sustained them through the early years. Expect to hear unique arrangements of great songs by Stevie Wonder, Carole King, Curtis Mayfield, Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Cliff and James Taylor. Not to be missed!
The London Vocal Project (LVP) are returning once more to PizzaExpress Live Soho for what promises to be a truly memorable evening. Part of this performance will be dedicated to the words of the great ‘Poet Laureate of Jazz’ - the one and only Jon Hendricks. This is exhilarating music - masterful lyrics delivered at breakneck speed by a matchless ensemble.
The rest of the evening will be music chosen from LVP’s vast archive - gleaned from almost two decades of ground-breaking projects. Expect to hear selections from their classic groove repertoire, some bespoke arrangements of timeless singer/songwriter material, a few choice Kenny Wheeler poetry settings and much more.
