The Longshore Drifters
Leytonstone Ex-Servicemens Club, Leytonstone Social Club, E11 3DB , [Venue Details]East Sussex quintet, The Longshore Drifters exist to breathe new life into old school country music. Harmony-rich duets and songcraft are at the heart of their retro-modern honky-tonk sound.
Since forming the band late in 2022 after a chance meeting between songwriters Michelle Miller & Mark J. Lee at a late-night Hastings Old Town picking session, they have quickly gained a reputation for passionately reinvigorating classic country sounds both on stage and in the studio. From Telecaster twang driven roof raisers to smoky 3 am heartbreak ballads The Longshore Drifters serve it all up with equal parts rhinestone swagger and ‘down home’ charm & humility, making them firm favourites among hardcore country aficionados and the honky tonk curious alike.
Duet heavy, old school country pickers who wear the influence of golden age Honky Tonk and Cosmic Country proudly on pearl snapped sleeves. A living jukebox exuding the very essence of dim lights, thick smoke and loud loud music, two stepping in the shadows of Conway & Loretta, Gram & Emmylou, The Drifting Cowboys and The Buckaroos.
Ladies & Gentlemen, meet your new favourite country band!
