The Dublin Castle, NW1 7AN , [Venue Details]Total Recall- An Italian Tribute to the late Adrian Borland’s band The Sound, who were as explosive and intense as they were unlucky and underrated back in the day.
Hailing from Wimbledon in the 80’s, with a sound somewhere between Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen and Comsat Angels, The Sound were a post punk must. As is this gig!
The Widows- Garage punk with abrasive guitars, prowling bass and an unhinged vocal, there’s a Fall inspired Rockabilly vibe at times but also recalls Dead Kenennedys and Fat White Family, great stuff.
Jody & The Jerms- Fizzing punk pop with some neat vocal interplay via a bit of a 1960’s girl group feel, though musically it’s more Buzzcocks via something a bit more pop… Fuzzbox maybe.
