Her commanding gypsy presence doesn’t quite sneer at Bizet’s fantasy—in fact, she sings several of his arias—but she asserts a more complex idea of her individuality.
To the accompaniment of two classical guitars and a story line that’s funny, irreverent and always entertaining, our Carmen manages to both celebrate the opera written about her while moving beyond it.
The concert will finish at approximately 9:30pm, after which complimentary wine and other drinks will be served in the Members’ Room
