LYDIA MAY

The Grace, N5 1RA , [Venue Details]

Growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne, Lydia May has always had an undeniable eccentric flair. She spent her childhood escaping in theatre class and teaching herself how to write songs; a salvation from the struggle of making friends.

Friday,
3 Apr 2026
Doors open @7.00pm

After moving to London, UK in her teens she landed at the BRIT School, spending weekends in Camden soaking up the defiance, passion and theatrics of the indie rock scene. Now, Lydia’s built something bigger than herself: a devoted community rallying around self-love, inclusivity, and embracing the parts of ourselves we’re told to hide.

Backed by a rock band alongside her strength as an acoustic soloist and instrumentalist, Lydia May commands stages as a captivating force of earnestness, energy and fun. Her writing tends to narrate the dichotomy of self destruction and acceptance, in a chaotic theatrical manner. This honesty in her writing, power house voice and message have garnered her loyal fanbase; evangelists to the movement against shame and recluse. After touring with Eileen Alister around the UK in 2025 and selling out her first headline show soon after, she is establishing herself as a powerful, untamed new voice in the alt pop scene. In an age of perfectionism and isolation, she’s proof that there’s power in community, in seeing the beauty in our self-proclaimed monstrous parts, and in refusing to shrink. She invites you to revel in sensitivity and enjoy yourself.
