Rubella Ballet
The Dublin Castle, NW1 7AN , [Venue Details]Rubella Ballet – great to welcome back Sid and Zillah- and not forgetting Emily Flea, the relatively new Rubella Baby…always a great fit in the Dublin Castle. Back in the day RB added a hugely welcome splash of garish luminosity to the Anarcho Punk universe, as modelled by Crass et al.
Their fizzing indie pop punk sensibility was always welcome too, although live there’s an impressive degree of kosmiche heaviosity these days. A bit tribal, a bit psychedelic, and still utterly punk. Brill.
Hagar The Womb – also majorly refreshing back on that ‘80s scene and still doing it wonderfully well. ‘The Hags’ never disappoint. Charm and buzzes pop punk joy personified. What a fab double header. Or it would be were it not a tremendous triple decker- what with Brigandage being back to show us what the effortless slinky proto goth of Posipunk was all about.
Sounding ace and back in the place, Michelle and co. in Brigandage are not to be missed. Oh hang on. Not a threesome we’re looking at a four way wonder bill!
Get in nice and early (7.15) to ensure you catch Parliament Ruins – “Parliament Ruins are an unoriginal anarcho-punk band from the London/Buckinghamshire area, known for their energetic music and flamboyant live performances.” Yes! Embrace the ‘’Piss Take’.
