WOMANMAN + Crawford Mack

The Victoria, E8 3AS , [Venue Details]

Short Waves Presents:

WOMANMAN is the cathartic arrival of a new art-rock project by singer-songwriter Lea G.

Thursday,
16 Apr 2026
@7.30pm

Their new debut EP BIRTH engages directly with feminism, queerness, bodily autonomy, loss, grief, and transformation. Sonically, it sits somewhere between the emotional scale of Florence + the Machine, the experimentation of Radiohead, and the raw intensity of PJ Harvey, while ultimately carving out a sound of its own.

The six-track EP was recorded live over three days with an eight-piece band at RAK Studios, London, engineered and co-produced by Grammy-nominated Isabel Gracefield. Recorded completely live, with no overdubs or double tracking, each track unfolded organically in the room.

The material was written in isolation by Lea and later workshopped with the band, with the focus placed on expressing the emotional reality of each song. All performances were captured live with minimal separation, giving the record a sense of momentum and unique character.
