David Graham was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and started performing almost before he could properly hold a guitar, singing Elvis and Glen Campbell songs for family and anyone else who would listen. After moving to Oregon as a child, he learned “Heartbreak Hotel,” got his first electric guitar soon after, and never looked back. By the age of 15, he was already playing professional gigs, after his father smuggled him into a rough honky-tonk for his first real show.
Although his early years were shaped by rock, punk and blues, Graham was pulled hard toward country music after hearing Merle Haggard’s “Ramblin’ Fever.” That mix still defines his sound now: part honky-tonk, part hillbilly rock ’n’ roll, part American roots music, delivered with grit, energy and a real entertainer’s instinct. Based in Nashville, he has spent the last decade fronting the Eskimo Brothers and building a reputation the old-fashioned way — by getting on stage night after night and winning people over in clubs, dives and bars.
