@6.20pm

More dates available

Both master improvisers with a deep command of multiple styles, Kerr and Pearson turn to Bach’s extraordinary catalogue - music that continues to shape the foundations of Western tradition - as rich ground for exploration.

Drawing on works ranging from the Preludes and Inventions to more expansive and intimate forms, the programme blends faithful interpretation with spontaneous improvisation, reflecting Bach’s own virtuosity and flair for extemporisation. Highlights include Kerr’s arrangement of the iconic Chaconne, alongside a reimagining of a movement from the Double Violin Concerto, uniquely realised on vibraphone and piano.

Part of the Monday night Classical series Upstairs at Ronnie’s, this performance captures the spirit of creative discovery at the heart of the club, where classical masterworks meet the freedom of jazz, and anything can happen.
