A Brief Utopia began as a shift in direction for Jinjé, stepping away from the studio and into a more physical, instinct-led way of making music, rooted in live drumming and percussion. What followed has grown into a full live project, built alongside a cast of heavyweight musicians, blending tuned percussion, live drums and psychedelic synth work into something vivid, rhythmic and alive.
On stage, it moves with intent. A colourful, high-energy performance that draws on sounds from across the world, shaped through improvisation and tight musicianship, built equally for the dancefloor and the moment. Since its beginnings on Scene Unseen, the project has expanded into a full LP with Earthly Measures, bringing even more depth and movement into the sound.
Jinjé’s wider catalogue has picked up support from the likes of Jon Hopkins, Max Cooper and Gerd Janson, alongside plays across Radio 1, 6 Music and beyond. Before that, as part of Vessels, he spent years touring internationally, taking in festivals from Glastonbury to Sonar, shaping a sound that has always balanced electronic depth with live energy.
