Clover County
The nom de plume of 24-year-old Georgia Girl A. G. Schiano, Clover County is Inspired by the winking charm of influences like Sheryl Crow and The Chicks, blending the twang of classic country songwriting with tongue-in-cheek observations on modern love. Living in the space between folk, americana and alternative, Clover’s self-proclaimed genre of “Bootgaze” is equal parts sonic descriptor and cheeky joke.
On her debut album, Finer Things, released last year, she found a dream partner in producer Carrie K (Noah Kahan, Jessie Murph, Maggie Antone), who took seriously her intention to honour her experiences of girlhood, heartbreak and love in all its forms. The result is a coming-of-age soundtrack that honours the blessings in disguise, the young loves that come and go, and the ephemera you pick up along the way. A deliciously dreamy mix of moony indie folk and soft and sugary americana that sounds like a cross between Megan Moroney and Mazzy Star.
