Sebright Arms, E2 9AG , [Venue Details]Indie in town is back at the Sebright Arms on 11 May to present two very exciting Dutch bands - Fellatio and Hondenfokker! We pair them with one UK band on the line-up and call it a 'Dutch sandwich', hurrah. Join us if you're on the lookout to discover some new and exciting acts.
Both Dutch bands have never played in the UK before, so you'll be the very first to watch them live on British soil. Bring your friends, we'll bring the mini stroopwafels.
Fellatio: A lukewarm cocktail of demonic disco, dissonant story telling and primitive rhythms. Imagine Surfside Sex taking place in Lord of the Flies, or Suicide and The Fall jamming together in a rabid, ghost pepper-induced delirium, and it would approximate the debauched self-coined “post-kraut sleazepop disco” concoction this Dutch group conjure together.
Hondenfokker: A kennel-broken three-piece caught somewhere between a rave and a riot. The band smashes jagged guitar riffs into a mess of chaotic beats and analog synth bass, built for both the dance floor and the mosh pit. Impossible to keep on a leash with vocals snapping between catchy hooks and wild improvisations, sinking their teeth in and refusing to let go.
Cherry i: Their music drifts through the liminal space between The Smile’s unsettling surrealism and King Krule’s shadowy melancholy, with glints of Portishead’s brooding atmosphere too.
