Wax Head

George Tavern, E1 0LA , [Venue Details]

Wax Head are a drummer-fronted psych, noise, and punk quartet from Manchester. Known for "sweaty" and "visceral" live shows - including the infamous moment a fan shoved their head into a kick drum -they’ve become a must-see fixture on the European circuit.

Thursday,
28 May 2026
@7.30pm

Following a relentless 2024/25 schedule - including Manchester Psych Fest, Left Of The Dial, Sonic Waves, Rockerill Festival and They’re Going to Be Big - the band return with their debut album, GNAT, out April 1st, 2026 via Sour Grapes Records.

A wall-of-sound cut from blunt-edge garage rock, kraut-rhythms and distorted noise, GNAT is the result of years of refinement. “The album is an amalgamation of our time establishing ourselves in Manchester,” the band explains. “It’s hectic and bone-snappingly heavy, but melodic in moments - a true representation of our development since 2021.”

The band’s sound has been championed by BBC6 Music and KEXP, with their last four singles receiving numerous airplays from the likes of Steve Lamacq, Deb Grant and Emily Pilbeam, alongside a live in-studio session in 2025. Wax Head will embark on their third EU/UK tour, bringing GNAT across the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Belgium, and the Netherlands in Spring 2026.
