all pulsing with deep drones and harmonic tension. At the heart of it is Soumik’s sarod (a nineteen-stringed lute), complemented by rich textures of carnatic violin, mridangam, and tabla beats.
Soumik Datta is an award-winning sarod musician and composer. He blends ambient soundscapes, spoken word, and Indian classical roots to create an experience that is both emotive and immersive. This latest project weaves together five years of his exploration of memory, migration, and the climate crisis through partnerships with the Alzheimer’s Society, the University College of London Psychology Division, Choose Love, and the Earth Day Network.
