Born from years of mutual admiration and an instant creative kinship, Ela Minus and Nick León’s collaborative EP qué les pasó an mis amigos? captures two singular voices in electronic music, finding common ground in uncertainty, connection, and emotional survival.
Across qué les pasó an mis amigos?, Minus and León channel heartbreak, fractured friendships, disillusionment, and perseverance into a collection of songs that are melancholic yet relentlessly in motion.
Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip and producer Mike Simonetti—founder of Troubleman Unlimited and Italians Do It Better, and one-half of Pale Blue— joined forces this year for a new collaborative EP on Smugglers Way. The release pairs a transcendent cover of Bonnie “Prince” Billy’s “I See A Darkness” with the luminous original “Perfect Kiss.”
Together, Taylor and Simonetti have crafted a release that feels both unexpected and inevitable–a bold first statement from a collaboration that leaves plenty of room for what might come next.
