Bethia Beadman - Vinyl Launch
Third Man Records, The Blue Basement, W1F 9BA , [Venue Details]Bethia Beadman releases her long awaited Tchad Blake (The Black Keys, Fiona Apple, Tom Waits) mixed album Kitten Feel on vinyl via 5dB records on September 7th. To celebrate the release, she will play an intimate showcase with her four piece band at Third Man Records from 7.15 - 8 pm.
At last catching buzz to match her ferocious talent, the charismatic Beadman, whose life story (from Bath to Louisiana, from Courtney Love to writing books) merits a movie in itself, releases a cohesive, compulsive album full of fire and swamp-blues soul. Recorded in Detroit, it sidewinds in with the Tom Waits tendrils of the title track and the Bad Seeds brooding of Brick, her voice poised yet possessed like Patti Smith. While well-meaning tipsters will cite PJ Harvey or Sharon Van Etten as references, her edge and commitment are singular. Feral yet filigreed, Kitten Feel purrs and prowls.” - Record Collector
"We think this is going to be one of the big records this summer.” - Lauren Laverne
“Kitten Feel casts alluring new spells from timeless blues-folk ingredients” - UNCUT
“this album looks set to be one of the alternative rock highlights of the year" - Guitarist Magazine
