Sulka + Frankie Morrow
Music Room London, SE14 5BA , [Venue Details]Glasgow’s Sulka is the DIY alt-pop project of Lukas Clasen, whose new album Bute arrives following acclaim from Steve Lamacq and Vic Galloway, BBC Radio play, and sold-out UK tours.
Inspired by a winter trip to the Isle of Bute, the record blends intimate vocals, lo-fi aesthetics, and grunge/shoegaze dynamics, drawing comparisons to Alex G and Sparklehorse. Merging homemade charm with radio-ready fidelity, Bute explores time and nature using field recordings and fractured radio broadcasts, driven by singles like 'Halloween', 'All Bets Off', and 'Meteorite'.
Joining the bill is singer, songwriter, and guitarist Frankie Morrow, raised on North American rock legends and Scottish folk poetry. Following an early EP supported by BBC Radio 1 and a slot at Glastonbury, Morrow released her debut album Way Out West via Tres Brujas Records. Hailed by Far Out Magazine as "less like a debut album than the discovery of a long lost classic" and praised as "explosive" by Guy Garvey on BBC Radio 6 Music, Morrow’s grief-forged songwriting delivers an unforgettable live experience
