Late Late Soul Sessions Upstairs with Imaani
Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Imaani brings her powerhouse vocals and all-star band to the stage for a new monthly soul and R&B jam, inviting singers and musicians to step up and join the session.
Expect a first half drawn from Imaani and her band’s own repertoire alongside classic soul and R&B favourites. Expect the kind of songs that have lived on dancefloors, in clubs and on sound systems for decades. Then the doors open to the room, with selected singers and musicians invited on stage to join the band and take the music somewhere new.
Imaani first came to prominence through her work with Incognito, before establishing herself as a solo artist with You Will Never Know. She has since worked with Chaka Khan, Nile Rodgers, Maceo Parker and Aswad, as well as representing the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest.
For anyone who knows their soul, this is a chance to hear familiar songs in a different setting, and discover what happens when a great band and a room full of singers get together late at night.
Sign-up: Singers and musicians can register their interest inside the venue on arrival. The jam will take shape on the night, depending on the musicians and singers in the room.
