Call Me Merman

Theatre At The Tabard, W4 1LW , [Venue Details]

Rosemary Ashe, Olivier Award nominated star of London’s West End, pays tribute to Ethel Merman

Sunday,
8 Nov 2026
@3.00pm

the legendary first lady of the musical comedy stage. Belting out her songs with merry abandon, she helped electrify the Broadway musical.

Call Me Merman visits all of the Broadway star’s biggest shows from the Gershwins’ Girl Crazy in 1931, which made her a star overnight, through to Styne and Sondheim’s Gypsy in the 1960s.

Rosie possesses a powerful delivery, recognised from so many of her own West End appearances including Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables and Mary Poppins and creates a striking and often moving interpretation of Merman’s back catalogue. This is a fun filled irreverent evening of music and laughter with excerpts from Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Call Madam and many more.

Rosemary is delighted to return to the Tabard Theatre with Call Me Merman after first presenting it back in 2012. She is accompanied by her Musical Director, Paul Knight.
