All London's live music

... entwining distinct sonic material — modular synthesis, voice, and strings — cultivated within the refined, highly individual practices of each of these celebrated artists.

Collectively representing a diversity of trajectories within the fields of experimental and improvised music, in their past encounters — Void and Kanngießer in numerous duo performances, Kanngießer and Laird at various Grain residencies, and all three within a quintet with Kenichi Iwasa and Steve Noble at Cafe OTO last year — revealed creative resonances and shared sensibilities for an emergent music with collaboration at its heart.

Nik Colk Void is a UK-based electronic musician and artist known for her experimental approach to sound, collaboration, and live performance.

Ute Kanngießer is a London-based cellist and composer from Germany. Over the years, she has carefully deconstructed her classical roots and almost exclusively performs unscripted, improvised music - solo and in collaboration with others. Much of her work has evolved in relationship with other art forms such as film, poetry, and site-specific work.
