Growing up in NW London, the influence of carnival rhythms is just as prevalent as that of the west-African musicians he learned alongside. He shows shades of inspiration from bands he has played in - Osibisa, Carroll Thompson, Moses Boyd, Shabaka Hutchings. However, his music diverges, unique to his own experience, emerging proudly in energising dance-grooves and jazz that embodies the resilience of the young African diaspora living in the UK.
