"All in all, masterfully written and played, elegant and expressive. I'd wholeheartedly recommend giving this a listen". Bebop Spoken Here.

In ‘And All the Birds Were Set Free’ the musicians are the birds. It starts with the bass harmonics, then a slow tenor sax melody with bass riffs and dark chords. There is a change of mood and tempo for a modal flying piano solo and then a conversation with the drums. The theme returns until coming to rest.

"Julian Costello proved a charming host, introducing the audience to some fine original compositions, and tenor playing of a gentle authority; full of passion, lyricism and invention all delivered with a full and vibrant tone". Jazz views
