Cart & Horses, E15 1PF , [Venue Details]ELIXIR: ELIXIR is a cult NWOBHM act from the 80's London, U.K. Any die-hard NWOBHM (or U.K. metal) fan will recall their 1986 release "The Son Of Odin" as being one of the most underrated albums of its style and era.
In 1988: With the chance to record a second album at Nova Studios at Marble Arch, London, the band invite Clive Burr (formerly of Iron Maiden) to provide the drums.
On 27th December, the band with Clive play at The Royal Standard, Walthamstow. in 1990 Sonic releases the second album and names it "Lethal Potion". The band puts touring and live appearances on hold, but their reputation grows and grows, with their albums becoming sought after amongst collectors.
in 2001 the band gets back together and decide to record a 3rd album. Following this, they keep touring and appearing at different festivals all over the UK and Europe, eventually recording nothing less than 6 studio albums!
in 2019 In November, Metal Hammer website names Elixir's 'The Son Of Odin' album as one of the "25 Greatest Power Metal Albums".
2020: In late December, Elixir's "Voyage Of The Eagle" is named as the best Metal album of 2020 by Chris Chantler in the Metal Hammer writers' poll.
2023 Elixir returns to Cart & Horses for your pleasure.
