How a trip to an abandoned architectural masterpiece became the starting point for a perfect partnership.

Created in 2017, The Ned originated in the former Midland Bank headquarters, designed by Sir Edwin 'Ned' Lutyens in 1924.

When Nick Jones, the founder of Soho House & Co Inc., first saw the City's disused building in 2012, he fell in love. 'The property had been empty for nearly eight years but there was something about it – the details and scale of it – that just floored me,' Jones explains.
