A Concert for Lydia in aid of music therapy
St Paul's Church, WC2E 9ED , [Venue Details]Enjoy a unique afternoon of music, the most diverse you are ever likely to encounter under one roof in the West End. The performers come from every genre but have one thing in common. They all had a special connection to Lydia.
The variety of music on display includes everything from comic opera and Welsh language folk music (sung by an Englishman!) to an electro-swing group and a classical brass ensemble. The spread of styles reflects Lydia's wide-ranging musical roles as cabaret singer, music theatre performer, classical cellist and latterly, as a committed music therapist.
She was passionate about her work, achieving great success particularly among children with highly complex special needs. Her sunny nature and therapeutic skills were able to shine new light into troubled lives. The proceeds from the concert will go towards this vitally important work.
