Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]Alto saxophonist Donovan has played with a multitude of contemporary British jazz names such as Moses Boyd, Charlie Stacey, Jay Phelps and Balimaya Project.
Donovan will present music from his debut album, Alleviate. Performing together since 2019, this talented young group further enhance Donovan Haffner’s distinctive compositional style, expertly balancing complexity with a sense of melody, accessibility and groove.
As well as playing with Rasmus Sorensen he was involved with Charles Tolliver's Big Band and toured with Moses Boyd. Gary Crosby OBE, Alex Davis and Binker Golding of Tomorrow’s Warriors were amongst some of his mentors in his earlier years. He has been selected as a finalist for the 'Jazz Newcomer of the Year' award in the prestigious 'Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2024'. Donovan was also a finalist at the 'Music Company's Tina May Award' in 2024.
Wednesdays will be led by a host of leading jazz players who will present their own bands followed by a jam for invited guests.
