Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Yokley graduated from Berklee College, studying under jazz greats Terri Lynne Carrington and Danilo Pérez.
He became an in demand drummer after landing in Brooklyn, and performs with artists such as Solange, Chance the Rapper, Ani DiFranco, Sleigh Bells, José James and DJ Premier.
Yokley’s viral drum videos have garnered worldwide appeal and nods from fellow drum greats including Questlove, Tony Royster Jr. and Jason McGerr. He is endorsed by Ludwig, Meinl and Vic Firth. In May 2024, Jharis will release his debut album: Sometimes Late at Night (Rainbow Blonde Records).
He will be playing music from his album, Sometimes, Late At Night, a genre-traversing debut. Yokley-who has worked with everyone-calls upon his jazz-informed chops and hip-hop sensibilities to craft this colourful and adventurous album obliterating the confines of genre, not by pastiche or haplessly slapping together influences.
BIGYUKI's unprecedented sound has attracted the attention of many, including Grammy Award- winning and nominated artists such as Q-Tip, Bilal, Talib Kweli, Harvey Mason, Marcus Strickland, Mark Giuliana, and Me'Shell Ndegeocello.
