A metaphor of the firebird, which is supposed to be a continuation of the album "Soley" from 2020. With double bassist Chris Jennings and drummer Tilo Bertholo, he forms an extraordinary trio that moves towards a spiritual jazz between urban pop music, Creole chants and electronic music.
Born on the French Caribbean island of Martinique, the jazz pianist is known for his mixture of traditional Caribbean music and modern jazz. After classical piano training and studies in Paris, he began his career in the European jazz scene and impresses with his virtuoso technique and rhythmic flair. His music blends lyrical melodies with complex harmonies, uniquely reflecting his Caribbean roots. Grégory Privat is considered one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz and is an important innovator in the fusion of jazz and world music.
