@6.00pm

Trad (arr Danish String Quartet) Folksongs
Dvořák Piano Quintet no 2 in A major op 81 B 155

Enjoy a selection of Scandinavian folksongs arranged by the Danish String Quartet – an ensemble that has devoted much of the last decade to bringing this beautiful repertoire to new audiences. The programme culminates in Dvořák’s Piano Quintet no 2, a work in which, unusually, he did not use authentic Czech folk tunes but composed his own – including a finale that evokes the quick Bohemian dance known as the ‘furiant’.
