Angela Grey
Pizza Express Jazz Club, W1D 3RW , [Venue Details]Angela Grey is a Filipino-American jazz vocalist and singer-songwriter based in Paris, France. Originally from New York City, she began her journey at just 16 years old, stepping into the legendary Small’s Jazz Club in Manhattan.
Now a rising voice on the Paris jazz scene, she’s the vocal jam host of the iconic Duc des Lombards.
Raised between Manila and Manhattan, Angela’s music radiates a free-spirited joy, carried by a soulful voice often compared to Dinah Washington with echoes of Amy Winehouse. Her songwriting—shaped by the storytelling genius of The Beatles—fuses Jazz, Folk, and Soul to express timeless human emotions.
Her debut album, Prisoner of Love, released in April, showcases her artistry through two original songs and six reimagined jazz standards. Recorded at Paris’s Zoot Studios, the album features a stripped-down quartet inspired by the Nat King Cole Trio—piano, guitar, and double bass.
Now, as she celebrates the one-year anniversary of Prisoner of Love, Angela returns to London to share her favorite jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, alongside original material from her highly anticipated sophomore album.
