Robert Wolf & The City Story
The Half Moon, SW15 1EU , [Venue Details]*Robert Wolf is once again showcasing his fantastic band The City Story
The band’s members are experienced consummate musicians that never fail to entertain and wow the audience with their musical talents.
Robert and his band will be running through songs from Robert’s two albums plus a few songs from his forthcoming new album.
Some well chosen favourite cover songs round out this eclectic mix of sophisticated songwriting influenced by rock, blues, latin and occasional touch of funk.
Robert's music has a style and signature of its own – yet like many, reveals influences taken from the artists he has grown up with. Robert's lyrics are thoughtful, clever and occasionally witty, the melodies always linger long after the songs have finished.
Robert's first solo album called “One More City Story” – in addition to being a carefully crafted and skilfully arranged body of work, made a clear statement that Robert's writing style was definitely eclectic.
Robert's second solo album “No Stars Tonight” takes this passion for different styles of music and carefully fuses them into something connected but always interesting and engaging from the cool bluesy bass line of the opening title track “No Stars Tonight” to the funky blue eyed soul of “The Honey Trap” and the lilting Latin feel of “Things That I Call Precious.”
